ElementBuddy is built with your privacy as a default, not an afterthought. This policy explains what information the app does and does not collect, and how it handles your data.
Information We Collect
ElementBuddy does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. No account is required to use the app.
The app operates entirely on your device. Your quiz scores, session history, and any preferences you set remain local to your iPhone or iPad and are never sent to any server.
Data Stored on Your Device
ElementBuddy stores a small amount of data locally on your device using iOS standard storage. This includes:
- Your cumulative quiz completion count, used only to determine when to show an App Store review prompt.
- Which app version last triggered a review prompt, to avoid prompting you repeatedly.
This data never leaves your device and is cleared if you delete the app.
Analytics & Crash Reporting
ElementBuddy does not integrate any third-party analytics, tracking SDKs, or crash reporting services. No usage data, event logs, or diagnostic information is collected or transmitted by the app.
Text-to-Speech
ElementBuddy includes a text-to-speech feature that reads element names aloud using Apple's built-in AVSpeechSynthesizer framework. This feature runs entirely on-device. No audio is recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Advertising
ElementBuddy contains no advertisements and does not use any advertising frameworks or ad identifiers.
Children's Privacy
ElementBuddy is designed for general audiences including children. Because the app collects no personal information whatsoever, it is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations. No data from any user — child or adult — is collected or transmitted.
Third-Party Services
ElementBuddy does not integrate any third-party services, SDKs, or frameworks beyond Apple's own system frameworks. The only network-adjacent interaction is the App Store review prompt, which is initiated and controlled entirely by the iOS system when conditions are met.
Your Rights
Because ElementBuddy collects no personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, export, or delete on our end. All app data on your device can be removed at any time by deleting the app.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy changes in a material way — for example, if a future version of the app were to add analytics — the updated policy will be posted here with a revised effective date, and the change will be noted in the App Store release notes.
Continued use of ElementBuddy after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
